Another song is in the making, that makes 4 new songs. We are thinking of releasing an EP this time. We are planning on concentrating on these 4 new tunes to get them arranged and then recorded. Can't seem to stop writing at the moment.
After our great gig for the Morning Star Social in Perth last week. We turned up at the rehearsal place to just get all the gear packed away. Luckily we decided to have a wee jam first though. This has resulted in the start of 2 brand new songs, conjoured up out of messing about and some noodling. Have been working on the rough arrangements for them tonight for the next rehearsal. Hope to get some very rough demos to the band on Wednesday. Will need some words now I think. Also time to get our fingers out and get some gigs booked.
Were were once again honoured to be interviewed By Kev Quinn on his Kingdom Cuts show last night. Kev had us in when we released our second album and did us proud last night by playing 3 tracks from the new one. Click on the Kingdom Cuts 89 to have a listen to the show.
The band were out on Saturday protesting against the austerity cuts impossed on the working class and the poor. These welfare cuts have been implemented, whilst millionaires received a tax cut. This we find to be utterly wrong in this day and age.
We also support The Peoples Assembly organisation being set up in the UK at the moment.
Well the album is out there and we have had 2 great reviews done already. One by New Hellfire Club Glasgow and one by Andy Gee. Go to the reviews section to read the full review. We we're up to Arbroath yesterday for an interview with Andy for his show The Sound, that will air on 23rd March 12:30 - 15:00 on www.radionorthangus.co.uk. We have another radio intereview coming up early next month with Kev at Kingdom Cuts. Various radio stations have been playing tracks from the album and we are getting very positive feedback from one and all.
I am so happy that all the work on the production side has paid off, as there is a very noticable difference from the first two albums.
Once we receive the first physical CD's we will be sending these out to everyone we think will have an interest in either playing or reviewing the album.
We have a busy month ahead of us. Finalising the album mixing etc, finalising the Artwork this coming week. The album will be released next Friday at first only through our own web site. It will be available through iTunes etc later. But why would you want to spend the extra for that. Kirby will be interviewed on Dusty Millers show on Radio West Fife this Sunday night. Dusty is playing The Silence, the only people apart from the band to have heard this one are the gig goers at Whistle Binkies last month. We have our first home gig next Saturday in Cowdenbeath and will use this as the launch pad for the album. The 17th sees us going up to Radio North Angus for an interview with Andy Gee, who along with Dusty have supported us from virtually day one. Andy has been playing our song Reap the Reward, again only ever heard by those in Binkies.
First gig of the year and what a stormer, we were on fire, i'm still smiling yet. 12:30am on a Thursday morning to a packed and very appreciative crowd in Whistle Binkies. We played for about 1 hour 45minutes, which gave us the chance to play a huge range of our songs. A huge thank you to all the staff at Whistle Binkies, everyone that was there and especially to Mark Holloway, who will be providing some great quality pictures for us.
We have just finalised the latest track for the album. Half way there and a wee bit more mixing and re-jigging to do. We are trying to get this finished before our gig in Cowdenbeath in March. Have posted this one on our site wide player, so have a listen and give us some feedback.
The new album is moving along great guns. I have 3 songs completed and finalised and am working my way through the others. I hope to have everything completed and released for our gig on March 9th. If it misses that date then so be it, but things are looking very good for now. I sent a copy of our song Reap the Reward to Andy Gee and he is going to be playing it on his show on Saturday ( www.radionorthangus.co.uk ). This will be the first and only outing for this song until the album is released. I gave a copy to Andy as we really appreciate all he has done for the band.
